Meet Sam Sorenson! He has worked for Sandboxx since June 2021 as an Operations Engineer. He is responsible for making sure Sandboxx Letters are high quality and offer a great experience for the people using them. Learn more about Sam’s experience working at Sandboxx.
What first attracted you to work at Sandboxx?
I first learned of Sandboxx while working at my previous employer. That company ended up supplying Sandboxx with the printing solution we use today. I had the luck of being the one to develop the solution while working for that company and got to work hand in hand with the Sandboxx team at the time to get it up and running. After a few years of on and off support and assistance with the growing and changing business, I got a call asking to join the team full time. I had known that Sandboxx was a great company to work for and had a great mission from working with them firsthand, so I jumped at the chance to be part of the team.
What is something unique about your team?
I feel like I joined the engineering team and was able to immediately hit the ground running because of my past experience working with all of the members of the team. Despite working remotely, it has felt like I have been working with the team for years since day one because in many ways I had been.
What is something you’re proud of that you’ve achieved at Sandboxx?
My focus at Sandboxx has always been around the letters, ensuring they are the best quality we can make and ensuring that those sending and receiving them have an amazing experience. Additionally, ensuring that the process we have for fulfilling the letters runs smoothly and consistently so that each letter gets delivered as soon as possible. I’m very proud of our fulfillment process and how it has grown since its first iteration, it’s now faster and more consistent than ever.
What does Sandboxx’s mission of connecting our military community mean to you?
I love that I can support our service members and their families by giving them the tools they need to be as connected as possible. Knowing that I am helping people stay connected with their families and friends so that they feel supported while going through a challenging time in their life is very rewarding.
