At Sandboxx, we are always working hard to listen to our customers and families. In this series, learn more about people who utilize Sandboxx to stay connected with their recruits and service members.

Meet Cora, a Marine girlfriend. Sandboxx made it easier for her to reach out to her recruit even though they are 1,000 miles apart.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your recruit.

My recruit is actually my boyfriend! We’ve been together for about a year and a half, and we’re currently expecting a baby in February. We found out just before he shipped out, we’re both from Buffalo, NY. He is currently training to become a Marine in Parris Island.

How did sending letters with Sandboxx help you connect and stay in touch with your recruit during basic training?

Sandboxx made it super easy to know when my recruit would receive my letters and I would get super excited when I saw I’d be receiving one back. It made the space apart just a little easier.

How did you first hear about Sandboxx? After using it for a while, what do you think about Sandboxx?

I heard of Sandboxx from a family friend who’s brother went through the MCRD last year. I think Sandboxx is great! It definitely brings back the excitement in our relationship which is really hard being almost 1000 miles apart.

Any plans for your recruit after basic training?

My recruit is in the infantry and we plan on moving together to wherever he gets stationed and just live our lives with our baby!
