I am very upset that my sons name is spelled wrong. I received a text and thought it was some kind of scam because my sons named was spelled wrong. How can I or you correct his name so I can send letters?
Have a letter I sent on the 2/18 that shows in transit. The letter I sent on the 21st has already been received by my recruit. Went to write a letter today 2/24 and the 2/21 letter showed unsent. I had to resend in order to write a new letter today. I screen shot the information and contacted customer support. Not sure what’s going on. $4 and my sons time by receiving 2 of the same and missing another.
Technology and storms are to blame (but I live in CA) I’m sure but was going smooth and loving it until now. 🙁
Anyone else all of a sudden having issues?
I received a letter from my best friend who is a recruit at Parris Island and am trying to write him a letter back using Sandboxx. However, the return address on the letter he sent me doesn’t have a platoon number. It has his battalion and company but it just says PLT with no number after. What do I do?
Yeaa I have that same problem with my bestfriend also being stationed in Parris Island. But I just manually input what he had on the letter.
Dear sergeant I am into joining the marine’s and boot camp because I am super dedicated and always want to try and be successful and also show that I love my country with honor an respect I can do any thing to do what it takes even one step on a the military ground will make me feel more like I am a super hero that protects my country. My name is Blake Mulloy and I am 17 years old and just got a offer to the marines .
Congrats and thank you for your future service.
If my sons quarantine was extended where do I send mail…?
You will receive communication from your son when you can write and where to write. I didn’t hear from my partner during her quarantine at all. For me, a week or so until basic training I got a notification that I could send letters.
I realized i forgot to put the Company of the recruit on the mailing address. Does that mean he will not get the mail ?
Can you send giftboxes that include candy, snack to the recruits?
Unfortunately, no, unless it is specifically a clif bar or some kind of protein bar. Send enough for the entire platoon that your recruit is in, or you recruit WILL get picked on by the Drill Instructors and the recruit won’t get the food if you send only enough for your recruit.
Good luck! And Happy Holidays!
No, don’t send anything except letters unless your recruit tells you otherwise.
Okay so my recruit in the marines left and had to be quarantined for 2 weeks, in those two weeks on Sandboxx his name appeared. So i wrote to him. I didn’t know whether it would go to the hotel he was being quarentined at or to bootcamp where he’d receive it later on. So i wrote, four separate times. Now, i just received a notification text from Sandboxx that says my recruit indicated he wants to receive letters from me, and that they updated his address. I go back on the app and see now my recruits name is under kin, and the same name and place in my recents, but the one under recents is the one i wrote 4 times and the one under kin i haven’t wrote but that is obviously my recruit because it texted me about him. IM JUST SO CONFUSED AND THERE IS NO ONE TO HELP. Did i just waste $20 and did i just make my recruit think i hadn’t wrote to him for 3 weeks someone please help
Hi, I have sent 3 letters now, and they all say sent. They are supposed to be going to Parris Island South Carolina. But when I click to see where they are at, it looks like they have been sitting in Tennessee for a couple of days now. I know my recruits address is correct. Just trying to get an idea of how long I should anticipate for letters to get delivered.
Can’t find any help on this site. Trying to find out if the gift card I bought for my son has arrived. The instructions are not clear at all! Tillman-

Since everything is computerized now I would expect to have a platoon number while the platoon fills up. He had his BN, and Company assigned before he left, he was at a hotel for 2 weeks for quarantine, in that time they should have the platoon # (I know its in a computer somewhere).
The article doesn’t say where to get the platoon # for the recruit meaning that we have to get a letter from him first.
I am surprised not that much has changed as far as efficiency even with high tech since I graduated in 1987!
Being an old Marine I hope I don’t make too tough for him and the Corps! Just gotta get him graduated and the rest of the plan is a cake walk.
Greeting’s wish to write cards to boot recruits. I’m in operation gratitude. Program worked for us navy 30 years ago civilian cpo mess. Duty. Manager retired disabled. Call me barbara mack 2153560312. Where to send morale cards. Thanks guys
Barbara Mack that’s awesome. It would be nice if you could send my son one. We don’t have his platoon number yet.
My son graduated from MCRD San Diego in April 2019. I realized then how many recruits do not receive letters/packages. Is there a way I could send letters and/or packages to any recruits you might know of that go without?
Yes I know one that doesn’t have alot of support.
I heard you can address a letter to SAM (Stand Alone Marine) the drill instructors will make sure someone gets it. Haven’t tried it myself but is a great idea.
Hola.envíe 3 cartas ami hijo desde la semana pasada jueves y todavía no le años llegado
My son is in bootcamp
My son is in the 2 week staging process then bootcamp begins
You both got this! Lots of letters, keep him encouraged and grounded. It seems so long but flies by real fast. Join the Facebook group for parents (MCRD insert company name And look for the official group) they have been a huge help, you may even get to spot him in a picture!
Mine too! He is 22 and is at Parris Island, SC!! I do not know anyone and would love to get any thoughts or input from any moms or anyone whose son or daughter is going through this for the first time!! He is in Marine Bootcamp right now!!
Thank you,
Keryn Uhler
