Americans everywhere are preparing for a long weekend in observance of Presidents’ Day, and mail clerks around the force are no exception.
Base mail rooms around the country will be closed for one to three days in celebration of the holiday.
Army Presidents’ Day Mail Room Closures
Mail rooms on Fort Benning and Fort Jackson will be closed from Friday, February 14, through Monday, February 17. The mail rooms on these installations will resume their normal duties on Tuesday, February 18. The last day for next day delivery is Wednesday, February 12. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Wednesday and before 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base on Tuesday, February 18.
Mail rooms on Fort Knox, Fort Leonard Wood, and Fort Sill will all be closed on Monday, February 17. Letters sent Friday before 5 p.m. will be delivered on base Tuesday, February 18. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base will arrive on Wednesday, February 19.
Navy Presidents’ Day Mail Room Closures
The mail room aboard Naval Station Great Lakes will be closed on Monday, February 17.
Letters sent Friday before 5 p.m. will be delivered on base Tuesday, February 18. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base will arrive on Wednesday, February 19.
Marine Corps Presidents’ Day Mail Room Closures
Mail rooms across the Marine Corps will be closed on Monday, February 17.
Letters sent Friday before 5 p.m. will be delivered on base Tuesday, February 18. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base will arrive on Wednesday, February 19.
Air Force Presidents’ Day Mail Room Closures
Mail rooms on Lackland Air Force Base will be closed on Monday, February 17.
Letters sent Friday before 5 p.m. will be delivered on base Tuesday, February 18. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base will arrive on Wednesday, February 19.
Coast Guard Presidents’ Day Mail Room Closures
Mail rooms aboard Training Center Cape May will be closed on Monday, February 17.
Letters sent Friday before 5 p.m. will be delivered on base Tuesday, February 18. Letters sent after 5 p.m. on Friday will be delivered on base will arrive on Wednesday, February 19.
