The Army Preparatory Course — Opening Doors to Opportunity

The Army Preparatory Course (APC) is changing lives before Basic Training even begins. Designed to help Future Soldiers who fall just short on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) or who need to improve physical readiness, the APC provides a dedicated, supportive environment to get them mission-ready. It’s the Army’s way of saying, “If you’ve got the will, we’ll help you build the skill.”

Since it's inception in 2022, the Army has successfully graduated more than 50,000 Soldiers from the Preparatory Course. I encourage you to talk with your Future Soldier to see if they are going directly to Basic Training or if they are going to the Preparatory Course First.
