Sandboxx News was established in 2020, with Defense journalist and editor Alex Hollings overseeing the transition from the Sandboxx Blog into the military news and media outlet it’s become today. Hollings, who serves on the board of directors for the Military Reporters and Editors Association, previously worked as a staff writer and editor at a number of defense media outlets.
Since January of 2020, Sandboxx News has entered syndication partnerships with a number of reputable defense and mainstream media outlets, including Business Insider, the National Interest, Military Times, Real Clear Defense, and We Are the Mighty.

Alex Hollings is a journalist and Marine veteran who specializes in defense technology analysis. He has written for a variety of outlets ranging from Popular Mechanics to We Are the Mighty, and currently serves on the board of directors for the Military Reporters and Editors Association. Hollings holds a master’s degree in Communications from Southern New Hampshire University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communications from Framingham State University. Alex Hollings serves as the editor in chief of Sandboxx News.
STAVROS ATLAMAZOGLOU

Stavros Atlamazoglou is a journalist and Greek Army veteran (national service with 575th Marines Battalion and Army HQ) who specializes in special operations and national security. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. Stavros Atlamazoglou serves as an associate editor for Sandboxx News with a focus on developing feature content.
TORY RICH
Associate Editor
Tory Rich is a Marine veteran and journalist, who also coaches football and wrestling. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Las Vegas and has competed in powerlifting, football, and mixed martial arts. Tory Rich serves as an associate editor for Sandboxx News and as the editor of the Sandboxx’s sports edition in print, the Scoreboard.
