MOUT CLASSES
“Final PFT
Week 24 at TBS is dedicated to mastering the complexities of urban combat. Marines will engage in a comprehensive series of classes and training sessions designed to prepare them for Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT). These classes will emphasize tactical maneuvers, decision-making, and leadership in an urban environment.
Extensive Classes on MOUT
Week 24 begins with in-depth classes focused on Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT). These sessions provide Marines with foundational knowledge about the complexities of urban combat, emphasizing the unique challenges of maneuvering and engaging in densely populated or structurally complex environments.

Sand Table Exercises and Tactical Decision Games (TDGs)
Following the classes, Marines will dive into practical application through sand table exercises and Tactical Decision Games (TDGs) centered on MOUT scenarios. These exercises help Marines develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing them to make effective tactical decisions in urban combat situations.
Leadership in Urban Combat
Leadership training will highlight the importance of decision-making, communication, and adaptability in urban combat. Marines will learn to lead effectively in these challenging environments, ensuring mission success while minimizing risk to their teams and civilians.

Final Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
The week culminates with Marines completing their final Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a comprehensive assessment of physical readiness. The PFT includes three key events:
- Pull-Ups or Push-Ups: Marines demonstrate upper-body strength by performing as many pull-ups or push-ups as possible within a set time.
- Plank Hold: Core strength is assessed through a timed plank hold.
- Three-Mile Run: Cardiovascular endurance is measured through a timed three-mile run.
The PFT is designed to ensure that Marines meet the rigorous physical standards required for operational readiness.
Classes on MAGTF Operations in the Information Environment
To conclude the week, Marines will attend classes on Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operations in the information environment. These sessions will cover how to integrate cyber, electronic warfare, and information operations into MAGTF strategies, ensuring Marines are prepared for modern multidomain battlefields.
Throughout Week 24, your Marine is immersed in a blend of tactical, physical, and leadership training, preparing them for the challenges of both urban combat and modern warfare. Stay tuned for more updates as your Marine continues this transformative journey at TBS.
