Fort Moore | Infantry OSUT

Hooah!! Welcome back for your Week 18 update. Your Soldier’s newly possessed Infantry skills will be put to the test this week as their Drill Sergeants conduct skill testing consistent with the Expert Infantry Badge.

WEEK EIGHTEEN EXPECTATIONS: GOLD PHASE

With only four weeks remaining in Infantry OSUT, your Soldier has trained on a wide range of skills, tasks, weapons systems, and equipment. In Week 18 your Soldier will undertake the Infantry Skills Assessment which is a culminating practical examination on everything they have learned.

INFANTRY SKILL ASSESSMENT

They must successfully demonstrate their proficiency in the maintenance and employment of the weapons, proper radio etiquette and programming, employment of the claymore mine, and the whole barrage of other subjects they have been training thus far. Each day throughout the week they will test on multiple of these performance measures and validate their proficiency as an Infantry Soldier. Every “GO” they receive this week is a confirmation of their status as one of the World’s Best Infantry Soldiers.

LETTERS FROM HOME = MORALE

Next week your Soldier will be taking their final Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Be sure to remind them about the importance of proper rest, hydration, and nutrition prior to the test. Those elements are vital to their physical and mental performance. They will want to do the absolute best they can.

Although Sandboxx letters arrive the next day with return stationery, a pre-addressed envelope, the return postage paid, photos, and a gift card feature, don’t feel like you have to use Sandboxx to send letters. We encourage handwritten letters and cards – these are super important.
