Each year, Blue Star Families hosts their Military Family Lifestyle Survey, alongside their partners at the Institute for Veterans and Military Families. The intent is pretty straight forward: They aim to create a proverbial “snapshot” of the current state of military families all across the force. The data collected is then used to inform leaders at levels ranging from local to national to better support the military community at large.
In short, the survey helps Blue Star Families and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families to identify what issues are most pressing for service members and their families, so they can be actively addressed in the year ahead.
“We want to reach a wide variety of active-duty, National Guard, Reserve, and veteran service members and their family members between September 8 and October 16. We know the greater the response, the more powerful our collective voice is.”

How to participate
By participating in the survey, you’re not only enabling these groups to better serve the community they’re a part of, you’re also playing an active role in steering important legislation and policy decisions that affect military families.
