Meet Daniela Mora! She has worked for Sandboxx since September 2017 as a Director of Engineering. She is responsible for managing the team that updates and builds new features for our app and website. Learn more about Daniela’s experience working at Sandboxx.
What first attracted you to work at Sandboxx?
I moved to DC 5 years ago with my husband and started looking for a job. When I heard about Sandboxx, I fell in love with the mission. I knew very little about military life, but I liked the idea of working somewhere with a great mission. During my interview process, I got a chance to talk to someone from each team and every single one made me feel so comfortable like I was already part of the team. It was just a simple decision when I got the offer.
What is something unique about your team?
A few of us on the Engineering team have been working together for a long time now; it feels like a family, and every person that has joined in the five years that I’ve been here has established themselves as part of the family very easily. I feel like that speaks to the culture that Sandboxx has established since the beginning.
What is something you’re proud of that you’ve achieved at Sandboxx?
I am very proud of the growth I have been through during my time at Sandboxx, personally and professionally. I have been allowed to grow as an engineer at the beginning and, since June 2021, taking a step into a director role with all the support of everyone here.
What does Sandboxx’s mission of connecting our military community mean to you?
The mission is what attracted me to Sandboxx, to begin with. I have learned so much about life in the military, especially what the families go through when sending their loved ones to basic training and I love that we are here for them. I love seeing messages from our users who say we have made their journey a little bit easier by keeping them connected to their service members.
