Fort Moore Basic Training is 10 weeks long. Trainees are identified by rank from the very first day at Fort Moore. So welcome to training “Private.”
Where is Fort Moore basic training?

What units are stationed at Fort Moore in terms of Basic Training?

- 1-19 Infantry Battalion
- 2-19 Infantry Battalion

- 1-46 Infantry Battalion

- 2-58 Infantry Battalion
- 2-54 Infantry Battalion.
Fort Moore Basic Training
Get used to not having privacy. You’ll be bunking in an open squad bay where you will sleep in bunks, and store your personal things and equipment in wall lockers.
When the drill sergeants need to address the platoon, they will address you as and entire group. In fact, in the very center of your bay they tape off a section in the middle. This is called the kill zone. Your drill sergeants will call you to “toe the line” (come stand at the very edge of the kill zone), and pay attention to their announcements.
Fort Moore – Reception
Discipline and structure is instilled the moment you arrive at Fort Moore. When you first get off the bus, you’ll be “greeted” by a whole group of “welcoming” drill sergeants. Don’t worry, you’ll survive the “shark attack,” as it’s called.
There is a purpose to your welcoming, just like everything else in Army basic training. By causing confusion and even a little fear, it helps begin the process of getting used to not just discipline, but the unknown loud and sometimes frightening things. As Infantry, these are things common on the battle field.
Reception week is about 72 hours, and involves a ton of in-processing and paperwork, but it also gets you ready for the rest of the training to come.
Once the in-processing is out of the way, it’s on to phase one.
Fort Moore – Red Phase
During this phase of Army basic training you’ll learn about team development, start tackling the obstacle course and approaching and handling the confidence tower and course.
Team building will be a primary focus during the beginning because you will rely on your fellow trainees throughout the duration of training.
The confidence course during week three will be one of the first major obstacles you have to overcome. At the Sand Hill confidence course you will climb a half wall with the aid of a rope. You will quickly learn why this obstacle is called the Wall Hanger.
Completing the confidence course involves navigating a host of grueling obstacle. The ultimate goal of the course is to instill a sense of accomplishment as you make your way through it.
Once you complete the obstacles courses you will come to realize that “I can do this, I can be a Soldier.”
Whether you’re from the city, the country or somewhere in between, coming bright into the obstacle course and being able to complete it is a step in the right direction towards becoming a Soldier!
Fort Moore – White Phase
After the confidence course, trainees will move on to rifle marksmanship in Phase Two(white phase) of Army basic training. This phase is crucial for those who will become an infantryman once training is complete.
Trainees start training with the M4 carbine and learn the weapon’s clearance procedures, safety rules, and weapons maintenance. As training moves along, you will shoot with back-up iron sights as well as the close combat optic. You will go over single, multiple, timed, and moving targets prior to the rifle qualification.
Many of you will be shooting a firearm for the first time, there will also be many trainees who will have grown up around weapons. So, the teaching bell curve can be steep, just hang in there. If you don’t know you’ll learn and if you do know, you’ll make “expert” that much faster. By the time you finish this training, no matter where you started on the experience scale, you’ll be an effective shooter.
Fort Moore – Blue Phase
Blue Phase, also know as heavy weapons training, will introduce you to the -50 caliber, hand grenades, the M320 grenade launcher, the automatic squad weapon called the M249, the M240 and more. You will also go through extensive land navigation training during this part of Army basic training.
You’ll also be tested on first aid, which is taught continuously to infantrymen (this terms includes female trainees, too) throughout Army basic training.
Other skills you will become familiar with are weapons clearing procedures, how to use radios, and buddy and fire team tactics.
The buddy and fire team training is crucial. As you become infantrymen, you’re going to be operating in fire teams at the squad level.
For Soldiers in other military occupational specialties, the end of blue phase marks their graduation from Fort Moore basic training. But, those who are in infantry will go on to phases four and five. During those phases Soldiers will learn the finer points of infantry combat, and receive more comprehensive training in battlefield skills and tactics.
Sandboxx Tip: In the military there are no excuses. Never offer an excuse. Your commanding officer or NCO doesn’t want to hear your excuse unless they ask for it. Any reason you may offer for how or why something happened (or didn’t happen) will be treated as an excuse. Your best response is “Yes Sir/Ma’am, I’m on it.
Getting mail at Fort Moore
During Army basic training, your only contact with the outside world will be through letters. You will come to look forward to mail call every day, and enjoy receiving letters from home.
Your friends and family can use Sandboxx to send you letters during basic training. Letters are sent overnight so you can hear from home faster. Tell your friends and family to check out Sandboxx when before you leave for basic training.
Hello I’m so happy sharing this with everyone on the net, I still can’t thank you enough for DR UWAIFO, My boyfriend left me, and went for a younger lady because I was unable to give birth due to PCOS. I was so devastated. I was lonely, I cried a lot, I even tried taking my life. Then my friend told me about this powerful man DR UWAIFO who helped her make her marriage perfect. I also went online and did more research about DR UWAIFO. I was not too sure but I decided to give DR UWAIFO a try. He told me not to worry, everything was going to be alright. He told me all he needed was the powerful items and I sent him money to get the items and he did his work and sent me video proof and told me to wait 24 hours and my boyfriend will be back to me. The next morning to my surprise it was my boyfriend on his knees begging me to forgive him and I forgave my boyfriend. I’m so happy, It didn’t stop there, I’m proud to say that I’m two weeks pregnant. Thank you so much DR UWAIFO I’m forever grateful.
I’M hoping he’s NOT a witch dr. ,praying for you Pamela!
Is there a day when you stop writing these articles? I wish I had time to discuss these articles with you. it’s amazing
I have sent PVT Davis Sean two short letters via Sandboxx; nothing! It is true I do not have any data except what I’ve shared. It there a way to know about his status. I just want to know that he is ‘GOOD’!?
If anyone still checks this page, be patient. Your loved one will be permitted to call home as soon as feasibly possible. That might take up to several days or even a week – or two weeks if you check in prior to May 11th, 2023. That’s when Biden’s COVID “emergency” ends.
I would like to know how do we get in to sandboxx if you can let me know e-mail nenanavarro89@yahoo.com
Thank you

Best Way to Get Your Ex Lover Back Fast Even If Your Situation Seems Hopeless!. I just got my husband back through the help of genuine love spell caster Lord Zuma. My name is Emily Sarah am from Tx,USA. My husband left me for another woman, This was just 3 years of our marriage. The most painful thing is that I was pregnant with our second baby. I wanted him back. I did everything within my reach to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so badly because of the love I had for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to my friend and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back , I had no choice than to try it. I messaged the spell caster called Lord Zuma, and he assured me there was no problem and that everything will be okay before 12 hours. He cast the spell and surprisingly 12 hours later my husband called me. I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that had happened He wanted me to return to him. He also said he loved me so much. I was so happy and went to him that was how we started living together happily again. thanks to Lord Zuma . if you are here and your Lover is turning you down, or your husband moved to another woman, do not cry anymore, contact Lord Zuma for help now..

NOT NOT
My Son is at Fort Benning, GA on week 3 of BCT. This is all the info he gave me: company is D 247.
I see that the address has to be in a particular format if I want to send a letter, and it appears I need more information. His name is Ronan Magiera-Kmiecik. Is there anyway I can look up his location using my 2 pieces of information?
My nephew is there as well and his wife received a letter with the info on it from my nephew
My son just landed in Atlanta yesterday and I heard from him last on the bus heading to Ft Benning, GA via text. I know he must have arrived at 1030pm or later after being up since 3 am from KSC. I know he’s exhausted! He knew there would be a quarantine period before starting basic training. He informed me he would text or call when he can and there would be minimum communication. Is he now in the reception that I’m reading in the comments above? Filling out paperwork, etc.? Will he be able to call me with info on where to write during this time? Just wondering when I can expect to hear from him. This is all new to me and my firstborn son. I’m a little nervous and excited at the same time for him, but know he will do great!
My son is in basic training too. Last time we heard from him was on May 10. He was on the bus to fort Benning.
I totally feel you Pamela. My son is also my first born. He departed for Georgia this morning. Sounds like you are doing better than I. I felt I was having a panic attack last night. Kept saying my prayers over and over until I dozed off. May God bless your son with a great military career and with His protection.
My husband is in GA. This is his second time around but it still isn’t easy. I will say once the flow of information starts it does become somewhat easier. With technology now a days most companies have Facebook pages and will update periodically with what the soldiers are doing.
It all depends on your sons MOS. You should be able to get more information from his signing in regards to training. You also have to consider that he must pass all levels of training before graduation. There were some recruits that h. ad to fall back due to injury or failed training but neither is a issue because if they follow orders they will graduate.
My son will be in Basic Training (Ft. Benning) Infantry sometime in July. When will the graduation be? Hoping the ceremonies are opened up by then and we can see him graduate in person. I’ve heard it’s a 10 week/14 week/22 week. I realize flexibility is key now but am trying to plan when our trip out will be.
1985 Ft. Benning, B-3-3, excellent training!
How long does it take to get to reception. My son shipped out on January 5th. He arrived around 10 pm. And I still have not received his phone call letting me know he made it to reception.
I never got a phone call when I got there bc of COVID everything is out of order
I was at fort Benning in Georgia before I can assure you if he made it there he’s in reception receptions takes realistically 72 hours mine took a week this is shots blood work etc the good old hair cut etc when he leaves reception he will get one phone call to let you know he is fine 2 total in reception is what I got then when he goes “down range” you will hear from him 1-2 times every phase ^^^^ as above I hope this helps you mom I know how it can be on the other side and missing calling home and y’all confused to when you’ll hear. But they do great training here you’ll see a whole new person when he comes home or you visit him for graduation GURANTEED

How long does it take to get to basic training. My son shipped out Tuesday January 5th. And I still have not got his fist phone call from him saying he made it. He arrived at fort benning around 10 at night. This is day 3.
he got his phone taken. you wont get a call until he is at his training company. unless they give the trainees their phones at 30th for however long. but when he gets to his actual training company, he will call you for like 15 seconds and read a scripted message to you.
Shark attack is incorrect being at this time its been discontinued!! At Parris Island every day is a shark attack. In between classes and smoke sessions. This gotta be nice thing has gone too far! Pvts need to know your NCOs can’t be your best freind bc they have to lead you in war and peace! Pvts need to learn to recieve and follow orders and that may not mean someone talking nice to you! Gone to far!
Amen-Sir
It is time we all got about the business of training our children to be adults. The Military is no place for wimpy spoiled brats, and neither is Real Life. Suck it up buttercup–We are not all winners and that is okay-And time for our Military leaders and all Military institutions to take back ownership of their jobs–Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell needs to be I don’t give a damn as long as you are a good soldier and can do the job without a candy-ass attitude–Otherwise get the hell out of the Army and go apply for Fairy School–Carry On-Sir!
